25th miss asian america crowned
congrats to this year’s winner is 19 yr old sarah liu! i think it’s kinda cool that there’s a pagent for asian americans and that it’s been going on for 25 yrs! holy cow! but why do we lump all asians together like this? why is there a miss chinatown but not a miss japantown? do people think that the miss asian america contestents compete in math contests or, at the other extreme, import car modeling poses? ok, i’m kidding…a bit.

Probably because someone in the Japanese American community needs to start up a pageant like Rose Chung did. And I think either way people are going to complain about it being lumped or separated.
